What are tooth-colored fillings?
Tooth-colored fillings are composite resins (also known as white fillings) used to restore areas of decay on a tooth. Tooth-colored fillings are made of plastic materials containing glass and resin that form a strong bond with the tooth.

How is a tooth-colored filling placed?
After preparing the tooth, Dr. Danner places the filling in layers and uses a special curing light to harden each layer as it is placed. When the process is finished, Dr. Danner shapes the filling to fit the tooth and then polishes the filling to prevent staining and early wear.

What are the advantages of tooth-colored fillings?
Tooth-colored composites are durable and esthetically pleasing because the material they are made from can be blended to match your natural teeth and no one will know that you have fillings in your mouth. Many patients choose to replace old metal/amalgam fillings in their mouth with tooth-colored ones in order to achieve a more natural-looking smile (as seen below).
